How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

Paleo Mango Chicken Adjustment

This recipe looked good, but it had too high a ratio of carbs in it. Originally, it had
30g protein(good),
15g fat(not enough),
26g of carbs(to many).
  So we tweaked it a bit to make it more caveman compatible.

Original Ingredients;                                     New Ingredients;
2 Tomatoes                                                   1 Tomato
1 Mango                                                       1/2 Mango
1/2 lb. Snow Peas                                         1/2 lb. Snow Peas
3 Chicken Breasts                                         5 Chicken Breasts
1/2 cup almonds                                            3/4 Cup Almonds
3 Garlic Cloves                                             3 Garlic Cloves
2 Tbsp Fish Sauce                                         2 Tbsp Fish Sauce
2 Tbsp Lime Juice                                         2 Tbsp Lime Juice
1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (as if!)                   No Sugar! Not needed.
1 tsp Chili Flakes                                           1 tsp Chili Flakes
Coconut Oil                                                   Coconut Oil
1/2 cup Fresh Coriander                                1/2 cup Fresh Coriander
                                                                       1/2 Avocado
                                                                       1 Old Milwaukee
By cutting out the sugar, we lost 4g of carbs.
By using only 1/2 a mango, we lost 5 grams of carbs.
We lost 5g of carbs using one less tomato.
By adding 1/2 avocado, we were + 6g carbs,+10g fat.
Almonds, +6gcarbs,+14g fat,
2 more Chicken breasts,+8g fat,+20g protein,
Beer, + 12g carbs (doh).

So, not counting the tallboy, we are now at a more respectable;
50g protein
47g fat
36g carbs.
Still tasted great, certainly good for a post workout dinner.I need the carbs while I'm training so much. If I wasn't training, I would reduce the carbs even more. If the recipe is close to a 33p/33f/33c % ratio, I can usually just add fat and protein, and subtract some carbs (usually sugar) to make it more palatable.

  1. 3 Researches SHOW Why Coconut Oil Kills Waist Fat.

    This means that you literally burn fat by eating coconut fats (including coconut milk, coconut cream and coconut oil).

    These 3 studies from big medical magazines are sure to turn the conventional nutrition world upside down!
