How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

Nothing Humerus About My Shoulder Ultrasound, and Hot Weather is On The Way !

So the ultrasound shows no tear in the rotator cuff, but who knows what's going on in there. They are going to treat the pain with physio and acupuncture and see how it reacts. After that,I'll get an MRI if necessary. But I can run, and I've even entered my 1st 2 races of the year, the 12 Mile Creek half marathon on June 2nd, then the Phlox 25K on June 10th. So let's see how those go before I spend any more money on shirts I won't be able to wear.
Herb and Buttermilk BBQ Chicken

Marinade- Buttermilk, coconut oil, dijon, garlic, herbs , salt & pepper.

Add BBQ

Grilled Eggplant with Feta, Oregano, oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.

Add Hot Sauce

Primal Eggs Florentine. Back bacon, spinich, eggs, hollandaise sauce and a taste of Sriracha "Eagle" hot sauce. Hotter than the "Rooster" one.

Back in the Ravine

The trails are in awesome shape. Can you believe we're in downtown Toronto?

Of course every once in a while you are reminded where you are. Going under the Eglinton Bridge, for example.

The Captain's Crest

The Don Valley

Tough Terrain on Digger's Loop

The Beaver Trail

The Millwood Bridge. Still in Toronto.....

Tree!

The Bike Moguls.

The new footbridge. I love how the mountain bikers rip the fence down and open the gates within minutes of them being put up.

To the right, Naked Fat Guy Rock. If it's sunny and warm out, you can be pretty sure there will be an naked fat guy lounging on the remains of the "Bayview Ghost". Fortunately, to the left, is the Naked Fat Guy Rock Bypass.

Another Barrier Bites the Dust

LOL
Nice day on the trails, I think my longest run has been 90 minutes. I should be up to 2+ hours by 12 Mile Creek on June 2nd. The best thing about 12 Mile Creek is the beer/wine aid station, then unlimited beer (on tap!) at the finish. And great schwag. The rain this morning is tapering off and the sun is coming out. It's s'posed to be 28˚C (82˚F) this Sunday!
Wooooo Hooooooo. Better get my ass in gear.
  And finally....................
Random Humour From Vegan Heather Mills . Don't make me explain it!
