How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

The Boy Comes For a Visit. Tough Week For The Diet, and That's Just Ridiculous

Saturday- The Boy Flew in from Halifax, so we headed to "T&T" for Lobsters and later picked up some brewskis.
 Cheat Night#1.
This is the old flight tower at the Toronto Island Airport
Weighing the lobsters. We got two small ones each.

Sunday-Ran 20 miles in 3:45 with the Pylons-I guess that calls for a beer or two. Cheat Night#2
Monday-Behaved+ ate well*
Tuesday-Ran 1:30+ ate well*
Wednesday- Really not good. Lunch at The Burger Cellar (Burger, Fries, deep fried pickles +Beer.
This is what a deep fried pickle is supposed to look like, not like that mess I cooked up last weekend. These Burger Cellar deep fried pickles were awesome. They use Straub's Kosher Dills. The world's best pickles, IMHO.

They had beer, too! Mill Street Organic.

Excellent Burger and fries

Dinner that same night was takeout from Duff's Wings, more fries+ many Old Milwaukees. Cheat Lunch#1. Followed by Cheat Night#3. Not good.
Duff's Wings. Before.

Duff's Wings. After.
Thursday-Ran 9 miles in 1:41+beer with The Boy. Cheat Night#4.
Friday-Work, so ate well* Knee and ankle very sore in the morning. Gout?Let's hope that's all it is.
Saturday- Last Day with The Boy before he goes back to Halifax. Home made pasta+ more beer.So yeah, another Cheat Night #5
Sunday-Work so I ate well.*
80/20 turned into 20/80 this week.
* less than 100 grams of carbs
Weigh in. Not good, (164.5 lbs) but what did I expect? If I was a boxer, I'd have lose 10 lbs. to get beaten up by Oscar De La Hoya or Floyd Mayweather.
It's like lookin' in a mirror. Same height, same goal weight.
The ridiculous?
I was just watching the Tokyo Marathon. They went through the first 10K at 29:00. And still had 32K to go.
Doh.
