How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

Three Years Ago Yesterday..........

The Pylons (Dora, Swiss, Captain, Phantom and me) were in Ashford, Connecticut for the Nipmuck Trail Marathon. It was actually my first "Ultra" because it's 26.4 miles long. Hey, anything farther than a marathon is what they say! My Big Toenail has never been the same after kicking about 800 rocks. Captain got the worst "leg rub" rash ever. Swiss dropped his drawers. They had a crazy Port o' Potty decorated in a hunting theme. Photos of it are in the movie at the bottom. And that stoopid staircase that had the stairs all spaced differently, and the one broken step?
The crazy "Finisher's Log". A piece of a birch tree with the course marking painted on it. We had to smuggle it across the border.

We visited UConn, one of Michigan's arch rivals.
Got the T-Shirt

Dora and me are pre-paleo and look a little "chubby". At least I do.
Boy the photos are a bit blurry

  2. That music is killer, it always makes me smile. Swiss hasn't changed a bit.
