How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

Harry Rosen 8K Race Report

Portage, me, and Aunt Eleanor ran the 8K, and Uncle Bob ran the 5K........ 2 days before his knee replacement consultation. So in 3 weeks, he'll have a knew knee (titanium, like my bike) to run on.
I paced Portage to a PB by 3 minutes,54:03 for both of us. Portage broke into a sprint near the end and out-leaned me by 3/100ths of a second. Pretty sneaky. Here's a montage Portage put together of our amazing Saturday, and our Easter Feast and hot tub party on Sunday. Starts and ends with some of her patented Flower Pitchers.

For me, it was my second day in a row of running pain free, which is nice. I've been stretching and doing inside-quad strengthening to try and get my knee aligned properly again. We even rode 26 miles on the bikes on Sunday.
Time to suck it up and hit the ravine for a longer run. I'm missing the Glacier Ridge 50K this weekend which is killing me because I already paid,  but good luck to Cyrus, Swiss and Phantom!
