How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

Big problem coming up,  I ran 246 miles in May 2010, doing Back 2 Back 2 Back training runs for the 3 day 60 mile stage race in Tennessee. My biggest month ever.  I really want to run more this year than last year. That's gonna be tough to beat after my rib injury.
I ran 1:15 today, 7 easy miles, no problem, I'll do 2 hours on Wed, 2 hours Thursday.Maybe 2 hours Friday?
I gained 4 lbs. while injured. Doh!
And congratulations To Portage and The Boy, they did the Sporting Life 10K and finished within 30 seconds or so of each other, despite not seeing each other after 3K. Portage set a PB by 18 seconds. The Boy did a total of one 4K training run.
Portage and The Boy at the finish. Funny, he doesn't look 53 years old....Thanks for taking the injured Old Man's place!
