How To Approach an Ultra or Ironman

Jordan Rapp quote sums it up!

This Jordan Rapp quote sums it up.
"It's about the process. It doesn't matter what you do tomorrow and it doesn't matter what you did yesterday. It's about today, and making today count. That's especially true in training, but it's the same mentality that I carry into racing. Focus on the task at hand, not on the finish line, or the next part of the race, but what it is that is right there in front of you in the moment."

3+ Hours At Hilton Falls. Yeah, 3 hours + 2 hours

So the Captain told us 3+ hours, technical trail. I guess he wasn't counting on the driving rain which turned to sleet, and that turned "technical running" into"you could break a hip running".
  Well, sometimes you have to play the cards you're dealt,and no one was going home after the long drive out. No one got hurt,which is nice, although there a few hundred near misses. I sure had a bunch.

On the left, Dora runs down the "Trail".

Just when you think it couldn't get worse;

Lucky for us, we knew we had a road ahead, so we could pick up some time. Here's me and Captain, enjoying the pavement.

Onions and Dora enjoy some groomed trail.

Left to right, Captain,Cyrus, Onions and Digger. That is not a stream.The Snow is melting.

 This is one of the least technical spots on this trail.
 Anyhow, a good time was had by all. Captain, the official timer, says somewhere around 3:46 running time. I was out of the car for 5 hours and 7 minutes.We figger around 20 miles.
Great Job Everyone! Phantom and Captain have Fools 50k in Ohio in 2 weeks, Cyrus and I are doing Seaton trail 52k April 17th, Captain is doing the 26k same day just for fun.
